Healthe Care are expanding our Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) team and are seeking three experienced and motivated CDI Specialists to join our established service. These are newly created roles, adding to an existing team based at Gosford Private Hospital (NSW) and Mulgrave Private Hospital (VIC).
These new roles reflect Healthe Care’s commitment and investment in high-quality clinical documentation to facilitate exceptional patient care and support accurate clinical coded data.
Based at Hurstville Private Hospital, Maitland Private Hospital (NSW) and Lingard Private Hospital (Newcastle), these roles will work closely with clinicians, clinical coders and health information teams to support clear, complete and contemporaneous clinical documentation that accurately reflects patient complexity, care provided, and outcomes achieved.
About the role
Reporting to the CDS Lead, you will:

Review inpatient documentation to identify opportunities for improvement in clarity, specificity and completeness

Engage with clinicians in a collaborative, educational manner to support best-practice documentation

Facilitate timely and appropriate clinical clarification where required

Partner with Clinical Coding and Health Information teams to support accurate coding and DRG assignment

Contribute to education and continuous improvement initiatives

Support consistency in documentation practices across sites as the CDI service continues to grow
About you
You will bring:

A clinical background (e.g. nursing, allied health or medical)

Demonstrated experience in Clinical Documentation Improvement

Sound understanding of ICD-10-AM, ACHI, ACS and activity-based funding principles

Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage credibly with clinicians

A collaborative, pragmatic and improvement-focused mindset
-
Experience working in acute hospital settings (private sector experience desirable)
