An enduring partnership, the Program consists of six integrated core elements with proven results. Join the entire program or create your own package by choosing the specific components you need. Contact us today to start your hospital’s clinical documentation improvement journey.

CDIA’s Audits

Distinct from coding audits, CDIA audit’s are conducted by doctors and senior nurses who review the medical record to identify clinically implied diagnoses that cannot be captured by coders. CDIA audit’s produce significant results even for records that have already undergone a traditional coding audit. Audits can be conducted on written and electronic records, both on site and remotely.

Clinical Documentation Specialist Training

CDIA offers the leading CDS training program in Australia and New Zealand. The training provided by our clinicians ensures that the CDSs are equipped to engage effectively with clinicians to capture the clinical truth.

Hospital Wide Education

Our hospital-wide education provides a systemic education strategy targeting all clinicians across the hospital. We’ll give your teams powerful techniques and simple tools to improve the quality of your documentation – without your clinicians needing to write more. Since our journey began, we’ve educated more than 8,000 clinicians.

Coder Clinical Development

Our medical doctors empower clinical coders to understand the medicine behind the codes. We’ll help your coders increase their confidence so they can critically analyse medical records for documentation gaps and produce high-quality, ethical queries.

CDS Coach

Our dedicated CDIA coach gives your CDS ongoing professional support, development and direction. Working with our coach, your team members will learn how to manage challenges, identify missed opportunities and maintain the energy behind the Pursuit Program.

Coder Doctor Support

Coder Doctor Support provides the unique opportunity for health information managers and clinical coders to access ongoing support to discuss clinical conditions relating to coding.

"With both CDS experts and clinician's involved, the program is designed and delivered in great depth."

Diana Cheng, Clinical Documentation Specialist North Metropolitan Health Service WA

“CDIA worked with us to train our Clinical Documentation Specialists and launch our program with organisation wide education that reached over 500 staff. Without this assistance I don’t think our program would have kicked off as quickly and successfully as it has.”

Kylie Holcombe, Coding Auditor & CDI Program Lead Ballarat Health Services

“We introduced the CDIA program at the end of 2017 in response to diluted revenue returns from health funds and we have not looked back. Improved documentation isn’t just about revenue, it is about better outcomes for our patients.”

Brenda Petersen, Director of Clinical Services Calvary Riverina Hospital

“CDIA provided outstanding CDS education and long term personalised follow up. Thanks CDIA for my great introduction into the role of CDS!”

Sarah Taylor, Clinical Documentation Specialist John Fawkner Private Hospital

“Thank you so much CDIA. You delivered so much more than we anticipated in such a professional manner. There is such a positive vibe around our hospitals about CDI!”

Aileen Staunton, Ex National HIM Healthscope
